Iceland Elopement Videographer, Snæfellsnes Peninsula / Vanessa + Brandon.
Travelling all the way from America, Vanessa and Brandon had the most insane Icelandic elopement!
When they arrived at their stunning black cabin nestled in the heart of the Icelandic countryside, they were met with traditional Viking symbols adorning its walls. From its windows, they could take in a tranquil lake and lush forest that stretched out as far as the eye could see.
As a passionate Iceland wedding videographer, I know that personal vows are one of the most meaningful parts of any wedding ceremony. That's why I made sure to take extra care when recording Vanessa and Brandon's vows. Wanting to ensure that every handwritten word was captured clearly, I took a moment to record each of their vows separately in our make-shift soundproof booth (our car!), which they both agreed was a great chance to practice one last time. Knowing that the Icelandic wind can be strong, is another reason it’s important to have an audio backup in place when it comes to recording such beautiful vows. It's moments like these that make me feel truly honoured to be a part of such a special day, and I will always go the extra mile to ensure that everything is captured perfectly.
We met with the celebrant who had prepared a personal and heartfelt ceremony for Vanessa and Brandon. Taking an enchanting walk through the forest together, we eventually reached the perfect spot right at the edge of the lake, where Vanessa and Brandon shared their personal handwritten vows with one another, and celebrated this special moment by drinking out of a traditional Viking horn, and received blessings from the celebrant. We were invited to share our wishes for the couple while drinking from the horn, my wish…
“I wish you both a life full of happiness and adventure together.”
After such an incredible ceremony, we then packed up our cars and went off on an unforgettable road trip around The Snæfellsnes Peninsula. This stunning area of Western Iceland is much quieter than its southern counterpart, which meant that we had plenty of time, often in complete solitude to capture spectacular video footage, making for an absolutely epic Iceland wedding film.

We had many hours of exhilarating road-tripping together, jumping out to capture footage when we found a spot we loved. The day came to a close as we filmed the couple enjoying a gorgeous sunset over the moss-green lava stones, after which they jumped into a natural hot spring for a moment alone to reminisce on the most incredible day in Iceland together. As the temperature dropped, the sky turned dark and we drove back to Reykjavik I was so full of anticipation for the task ahead: editing all the wonderful footage we had captured throughout the day!
Working with Steph from Zakas Photography made the day an absolute breeze, we have a similar shooting style and ethos which ensures our couples have the best experience.
